Overview

The Colorado Wastewater Utility Council (CWWUC) has been interested in developing a mentoring program for sometime to improve the overall quality of wastewater treated effluent discharges to the waters of Colorado.  In 2005, it decided to develop and implement the Colorado Wastewater Mentoring Program.  In 2006, the Colorado Water Utility Council voted to join forces with CWWUC to develop a Water and Wastewater Mentoring Program.  This website reflects the joint effort.

There is a wealth of expertise in Colorado utilities. At the same time, there are issues and problems that need to be solved. The Mentoring Program brings together the expertise from one utility or individual  and the needs of another utility or individual to find solutions to problems. The Mentoring Program is absolutely free!

The Mentoring Program is designed to provide online (Post a Question) and personal (Peer to Peer) mentoring services to water and wastewater utilities throughout the State of Colorado. The Program is to assist communities and private entities with water and wastewater problems, compliance issues, watershed activities, and standards-related issues.

Mentees will be able to be matched with mentors, to ask questions online (Bulletin Board), and to link to other websites to find a consultant, contractor, or service to assist them with their question(s) or problem(s). Mentees receive technical and managerial expertise from experienced individuals (mentors) without having to learn by trial and error resulting in lower risk and lower cost.
